For those of you unfamiliar with the Massachusetts Health Data Consortium, it is a not-for-profit neutral convener of the Massachusetts healthcare community. The Consortium’s main purpose has been to foster collaboration between its membership on the most pressing healthcare issues of the day. Payers, providers, government, health care associations and companies come together and collaborate on using health information and technology to achieve and sustain improvements in health quality, cost, and effectiveness.
We provided a a mini workshop today to their membership and guests on how to visualize healthcare data including: how people see and understand information, the importance of great design and the importance of design leadership for your organization. With a sell-out crowd of more than 60 attendees it is safe to say that effective data visualization is gaining momentum as a critical factor in every sector within healthcare.
